Arusha National Park is a beautiful gem in northeastern Tanzania, near Arusha. The park is home to the impressive Mount Meru, a giant volcano at 4566 meters high. Even though the park is a little small, it has stunning landscapes, like the Meru Crater and the Jekukumia River, which make it an excellent place for safari adventures. The top of Mount Meru, right on the edge of the crater, offers a fantastic view.

The park is next to Ngurdoto Crater, a peaceful grassland plain. There are also some shallow alkaline lakes called Momella in the park’s northeast, where you can see different colors of algae and lots of wading birds.
Some of the lakes in Arusha National Park have unique blue-green algae that pink flamingos like to eat, and others have many different birds. The park is home to over 400 bird species, so you can listen to their sounds and enjoy their peacefulness.

Arusha National Park is only a short 45-minute drive from Arusha city or an hour’s drive from Moshi, making it easy to get to. Besides being easy to reach, the park offers some excellent safari experiences, like walking and canoeing safaris, which let you get close to the wildlife and nature – something you can’t do in other parks in the country!

Even though Arusha National Park might not have many big predators, it has a wide variety of animals. It’s home to the enormous giraffes in Africa, many different types of monkeys, and many big plant-eating animals, showing off the park’s rich biodiversity. It’s a perfect place to spend the day with friends, family, or coworkers, especially if you want something different from the usual game drive experience.
